Akram's bio
Akram brings over 30 years of executive management experience to the role. A distinguished healthcare executive, Dr. Boutros previously served as the CEO of The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was recognized for transformative leadership and innovation. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Downstate Health Sciences University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from St. John’s University. Throughout his career, he has received numerous accolades, including being named one of Modern Healthcare’s Most Influential Clinical Leaders.

A Co-Founder of Nexus Bedside, Alex brings over 30 years of experience in launching, developing, and managing healthcare staffing and pharmaceutical services companies.
With a strong background in both business and engineering, he holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida. His career reflects a consistent focus on innovation and growth within the healthcare industry.

Tess Boutros serves as Vice President of Operations & Culture at Nexus Bedside, where she has been part of the team since the company’s inception. She leads initiatives that blend operational excellence with a strong, people-first culture, drawing on her experience supporting C-suite executives and a proven background in brand management and marketing strategy.
A graduate of The Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center, Tess specializes in world-class service and leadership practices. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from LIM College.

Vice President, Nursing Operations
Ryan's bio
Ryan serves as Vice President of Nursing Operations, bringing diverse hands-on experience in orthopedics, medical-surgical care, and oncology. He has successfully managed multi-site outpatient cancer centers and has played a key role in developing and enhancing staffing efficiency models. A dedicated healthcare professional, Ryan is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Akron.

Kevin Pate is the Chief Financial Officer with more than 25 years of executive financial experience, including over a decade in healthcare staffing. His deep expertise in financial strategy and operational leadership supports the company’s sustained growth and fiscal health.
Kevin holds a Master of Accounting (MAC) from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Delta State University.

Nancy's bio
Nancy serves as the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement, bringing with over 30 years’ experience. Nancy previously served as Director of Operations for Mount Sinai at Home, a joint venture with Amedisys/Contessa Health. During her 23-year tenure at Mount Sinai South Nassau, Nancy managed the administrative, clinical and financial operations of the hospital’s award-winning certified home health agency. She led the home care program to profitability through brand revitalization that included redesigns in strategy, operations, marketing, communications, and quality metrics. Nancy is a registered nurse and certified case manager. She earned a master’s degree in Business Administration and Nursing Administration from Adelphi University.

Melissa Kline, RN, DNP, is a dedicated healthcare leader with over 20 years of experience in healthcare systems. She currently serves as a board member of the Commission on Magnet Recognition and holds the Glick Chair at the Case Western Reserve University School of Nursing. Melissa previously served as Chief Nurse Executive at The MetroHealth System. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Chamberlain University, a Master’s degree in Nurse Leadership and Management from Walden University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Akron.
Akhil Saklecha, MD
Akhil's bio
Akhil is the former Chief Scientific Officer of Acute Care at Danaher, a $24B life sciences and diagnostics company. He previously led venture investing at Cleveland Clinic and was a Managing Director at Artiman Ventures, backing early-stage health and tech startups. A former startup CEO and hospital executive, Dr. Saklecha is Board-Certified in Emergency Medicine and continues to practice part-time at Cleveland Clinic. He serves on the board of Neurotherapia and advises Augment Ventures. He has served on national committees in emergency medicine, quality, and EMS. Dr. Saklecha earned his B.S./M.D. from NEOMED and MBA from the University of Tennessee.
Mike Smith, MD, MBA, FACEP, FACPE, FACHE
Academic Emergency Physician, Simulation Expert, CPR Training Advocate.

Dr. Smith was born, raised, and trained in Cleveland before relocating to New Orleans in 2015. A professor of emergency medicine, he has founded two simulation centers and is the past president of both the Ohio and Louisiana chapters of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is a nationally awarded teacher and received his undergraduate, medical degree, and residency training from Case Western Reserve. He received a MBA from Cleveland State University and is a Certified Physician Executive and a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. A TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer, he has designed, implemented, and mentored patient safety programs for all health care professionals, including nurses. He is on the Alumni Association board for CWRU.

Miguel's bio
Miguel Zubizarreta brings over 40 years of information technology experience to his role as Chief Technology Officer. He is the co-founder of Hyland Software and served as the principal architect and developer of the OnBase Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution. Under his leadership, Hyland grew to become the second-largest independent ECM software vendor, serving more than 15,000 customers worldwide. Miguel holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
