Starting and finding success as a health tech start up isn’t easy — it’s even more difficult when the founder is undergoing intense public scrutiny.
This was, and still is, a challenge for Dr. Akram Boutros.
Boutros, MetroHealth’s former CEO and president who was fired in November 2022, has since rebuilt his healthcare career as co-founder and CEO of Nexus Bedside — a health tech company he started in 2024.
Nexus Bedside has hit multiple milestones this year including securing $2.6 million seed in a funding round, deploying its technology in its first hospital and setting up the company for additional funding and advancement in the upcoming year.
